- – The environmental movement has facilitated the sharing of manufacturing best practices. We visit our business partners, both vertical and horizontal to our business, to gain and share insights.
- – Truly going green involves investing. Yesterday’s methods cannot yield the necessary green production result. Our processes have changed.
- – Energy usage is an area on which we have spent significant resources. From lighting the facilities to heating the water … from insulating the cold and keeping the hot, well hot … if it has a power cord or an energy source we’ve examined how to make it use less power.
- – The Centiva Green Way has infused our processes, discussions, and plans. Everyone at Centiva is empowered to develop better ways to minimize our impact on the environment.

– We knew our products were environmentally strong and wanted a way to test them. We turned to the University of California, Berkeley Institute to help us review the air quality of our products.
- – After our review of our production processes we took steps to replace equipment that was not capable of meeting our evolving environmental standards. When manufacturing equipment that we wanted did not exist, we designed it.
- – We took a close look at all of the adhesives used with our flooring to ensure their quality and most importantly their environmental performance.
- – The introduction of new production technologies has produced a great result, minimal waste in the production process. In fact most elements of our business produce no production waste.
- – As we have developed our environmental processes we have found that some problems need only low tech answers. One particularly effective answer came in the form of not packaging every product.
- – Our products have the number one attribute listed by architects and designers when they consider a green flooring choice … durability.
