Produce more with less. That is our charge when it comes to energy usage.

We’ve made many changes in our equipment and processes that have decreased our impact on the environment. Green energy usage is one such change.

When it comes to energy usage, we look at every detail. Green energy savings are found in bits and pieces everywhere. Take a look at some recent changes:

• Replaced a key boiler system with a new unit that runs with half of the horse power of the previous unit with a 35% increase in heat transfer and an overall 8% reduction in energy usage.
• Switched out all of the lighting in our production areas for the latest T8 fixtures using 33% less energy while increasing light at the production floor by 53%.
• Added variable heat transfer controls to our production equipment which allow the right amount of energy to be used. This change alone allows the same work to be produced with 30% less energy usage.
• Added off line production equipment that added 38% to the productivity of our main production lines and reduced usage of the main line by 28%.
• Added insulating blankets to the oven plates of our production line leading to a 16% decrease in energy usage in that area.
• Fully insulated a key chiller unit allowing it to be used to cool two production lines instead of just one.
